Thanksgiving Tablescape and Family Recipes
Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching once again, where does time go?? This year will be the first year that I don't spend Thanksgiving with my family, ever! That extremely lucky man of mine was able to pry me free of my mother's homemade meal dependency so that we can take a road trip up to Atlanta with his sister's family to spend Thanksgiving with his close friends.
Anywho, I am nervous about the meal, will it live up to all that I'm used to? I'll just have to find out! I'm definitely looking forward to this little getaway, not to mention the cold weather, which is completely nonexistent here in Miami - in fact it's hot and humid as hell, like always. Le sigh. So yes, road trip to not-so-Hotlanta for Thanksgiving this year, I'm excited!
Since I won't be here, I'm hoping to spend this weekend with my family and help my mom dress up her Thanksgiving table for the big day. I love to decorate our tables, pulling decor from all over the house that corresponds with the theme. Plus, we have a plethora of pumpkins and decor that we pull out of the garage for this time of year. I'll try to get a post up with my design of this year's Thanksgiving table decor before I leave for Atlanta next week. My mother's little pilgrim salt and pepper shakers are my favorite, remember them from the commercial that they always play around this time?? They're pretty old, or maybe just vintage...
