Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone, Irish or not.
I'm of Irish descent on my mother's father's side of the family, but I
won't be chuggin' green beer and shouting "Kiss me I'm Irish!" in some
pub. No no... those days are over. Just kidding, I never did that. In
fact I didn't like beer until a few years ago, I was mostly a wine or
mixed drinks or no drinks at all type of gal. I don't really drink, but
when I do I like wine - red - Malbec or Shiraz. Beer is very filling,
it makes me feel like a fat cat by the time I get a buzz. The first
time I ever really drank beer was on St. Patrick's Day a few years ago, I
was with some friends and someone said "Let's do Irish Car Bombs!" My
naive self didn't know what that was, but after some explanation it
sounded good - and it was, albeit somewhat nerve wracking! I've had a
few more of those since that day, but it has been a long time. Hmmm, an
Irish Car Bomb would be nice tonight, LOL.... Sounds bad. Anyway, if
you don't know what I'm talking about, an Irish Car Bomb is when you
take a shot of Bailey's Irish Cream and drop it into a glass of Guinness
beer (shot glass and all) and chug it down as fast as you can - before the Irish cream
curdles that is. Don't let that scare you, it will curdle too fast for
you anyway, banish the thought from your mind, close your eyes and just
chug chug chug!!! It's delicious, trust me! The flavor combination is
awesome.
Anyway, enough of my novice and silly beer story. Other beers I like are Amstel (I love you Amsterdam!), Yuengling, Amber Bock, Blue Moon, Warsteiner Dunkel, Negra Modelo (a recent discovery, my uncle brought it to a family get together), and one that the Ale House has called "Rogue Dead Guy"! Hahaha, those are just a few of the ones I've tried and liked over the past few years.
Anyway, have a great weekend and a great St. Patty's Day if you're celebrating it. If you are, be safe and I found the following message of hope and good will for you.........
