The Amsterdam Flower Market: Part II: Succulents and Cacti

YES, FINALLY!

I've strung you along... far too long, no more delays! I'm going to stop nitpicking over writing captions for every image and just let them speak for themselves... enjoy!!!

If you have not yet seen my first post on the Amsterdam Flower Market, which contains lots of pictures, a brief history of the market and information on their tulips, check it out here!

~*~*~

Ahhhh the Aeonium... so beautiful! This is the Aeonium Arboreum. I'd pay 8,50 Euro for that beauty, wouldn't you!?....

This cactus had me in awe.... It is absolutely gorrrrgeous!.....

Nothing short of AWESOME!!!! A sight to behold! They were only 2,99 Euro each or 4 for 10 Euro, not bad at all, but that's because the Amsterdam Flower Market is priced for locals since tourists can't take home plants....

...sigh...

Is that a gasp I hear?? I feel ya.... the cacti and succulents went on forever!

One of the largest most fantastic Burro's Tail succulents I've seen in person, and it was blooming, pink flowers!

Terrariums.... only 15,50 Euro!!! Yes, I got a little grumpy because I couldn't have one!

I was in love with these mini Delft pottery Dutch clogs with a tiny arrangement of cute succulents in them... I want to recreate it with the little ceramic Dutch clog that I bought....

Adorable, no?

This appeared to be the mini succulent arrangement gift area.... too cute!

Haworthias...

Up next, Flower Market oddities and more posts on my adventures in The Netherlands, including our visit to an organic food and flower market, a cheese farm, a windmill farm, Marken island, the Volendam museum and more! Then after that I can begin my posts on Paris!

  1. Beautiful...that was a wonderful trip to the Flower Market. I also wish we could've brought home some goodies. The awesome cactus you mentioned is the Christmas Cactus, and you're right, it is the most spectacular one I've ever seen as well.

  3. What an awesome market! I would've had to to be forced to leave. Love the idea with the baby toes...when I find more, I might try that. Glad you're feeling better! Did you by chance get my email? I'm thinking that I sent it to the wrong place.

  4. OM goodness, where do I start. What a succulent candy store. And I do mean "Candy" store. I would have gone insane in that place. Stan would have had to drag me kicking and screaming out of there.

The beautiful cactus that you love with all the blooms is a variety of succulent called Epiphyllum. I have a pink flowering one and the plant itself is not as gorgeous as this. And yes you must have heard me gasp when I saw the stacks and rows of babies of every kind. What a great selection. Oh and I would not have left that place without a terrarium or two. We have nothing like that here. So beautiful they are. Then the bucket's of "Baby toes" and Graptopetelum. So wonderful. And yes those little dutch clogs with succulents would have looked so cute with my tiny delph clogs that my parents got me when I was in Holland. And those donkey tail sedum. Slurp!!!!

Oh my gosh I could go on and on. Thanks for the visit. I wish I had been a mouse in your pocket. LOL
